Soil tillage services — from 400 ha
We carry out primary and pre-sowing soil tillage with our own machinery and operators: ploughing, disking, deep loosening and cultivation. We work from 400 hectares in the western and central regions of Ukraine.
Soil tillage work we carry out

Deep loosening (chiselling)
Breaks up the plough pan — the compacted layer that forms at the depth of regular tillage and lets neither water nor roots through. After loosening, the field absorbs rainfall better, and the roots go deeper and cope with drought more easily.
Working depth — 35–45 cm. Needed if the field has been tilled only shallowly for several years, water stands in low spots after rain, or the crop develops noticeably worse on compacted patches.

Ploughing
Turns the furrow slice and fully buries crop residues, weed seeds and pests in the lower layer. The classic way to prepare a field for crops that are sensitive to soil density, and the most effective method against perennial weeds.
Working depth — 20–30 cm. We use a reversible plough, so the field stays level, without back furrows or dead furrows.

Disking
The first pass after harvest. Chops stubble and crop residues, mixes them into the top layer and speeds up decomposition, levels the surface and triggers germination of volunteer grain.
Working depth — 8–15 cm. After maize and sunflower two passes are usually needed.

Cultivation and seedbed preparation
The finishing pass before sowing: levels the surface, creates an even seedbed and destroys weed seedlings that have already emerged.
Working depth — 5–12 cm, matched to the seeding depth of the specific crop.
Machinery we work with
Our own fleet, no middlemen. Every machine has its own operator.

Pöttinger · S6.50
Pöttinger S6.50 reversible plough
A clean, even cut and effective turning of the furrow slice.
Which tillage your field actually needs
If you are not sure where to start, go by the condition of the field.
A full checklist for preparing the field, access roads and logistics is in the article “How to prepare a field for a contractor’s machinery”.
- Water stands in low spots after rain, the soil is dense
- Deep loosening
- Lots of residue after maize or sunflower
- Disking in two passes
- Perennial weeds, the field is heavily infested
- Ploughing with slice turning
- The field is already prepared, sowing is 1–2 weeks away
- Cultivation
- Several years in a row of shallow tillage only
- Deep looseningthen — depending on soil condition
We come out to the field, take a look and tell you what is really needed — even if it is less work than you planned.
Why Wester
Our own fleet, not middlemen
The machinery is ours and named model by model — Bednar, Pöttinger, Kello-Bilt, Massey Ferguson. You know what will arrive in your field before you sign anything
The operator is part of the service
This is not bare rental: the machine arrives with a person who knows how to work with it
The full cycle for the season
Tillage, sowing, fertilizer application, spraying, harvesting — all in one pair of hands. No need to find a separate contractor for each stage and coordinate timing between them
We cover 9 regions
Western and central Ukraine — Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Rivne, Volyn, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zhytomyr regions.
How much does tillage cost per hectare
There is no single price per hectare — it depends on several factors:
- Type of tillage and depth. Deep loosening at 45 cm and disking at 10 cm mean different fuel consumption and different speed.
- Area and shape of the fields. One 500 ha field costs less than five 100 ha fields: fewer turns, fewer moves.
- Soil type and condition. Heavy and dried-out soils mean more draught and more fuel.
- Distance from our base. Moving the machinery to the field and back.
- Timing. Work in peak weeks costs differently from work planned in advance.
Tell us your area and region — we will calculate it for your specific hectares and give you a figure.

Who our clients are
We don’t take every request — machinery and operators are booked for the season in advance. Here is who we work with.
400+
hectares of cultivated area
The minimum scale at which our format pays off for both sides.
9
regions in our service area
Western and central Ukraine — moving the machinery doesn’t eat into the cost of work.
Less than 400 ha? Team up with your neighbours
If several farms nearby put together a combined area of 400+ ha, we come out to the field. One contract, each farm pays for its own hectares.
Questions and answers
Here is what farmers ask most often before their first season with us — about operators, fuel, price and timing.
Didn’t find your question? Give us a call — we’ll answer without questionnaires or commercial offers by email.
There is no fixed price — it depends on the type of tillage, depth, field area, soil type and distance. Tell us your area and region, and we will calculate it for your hectares.
From 400 hectares. If you have less, team up with neighbouring farms and submit a joint request.
Loosening breaks up the compacted layer without turning the slice: residues stay on top and protect the soil from drying out. Ploughing turns the slice and buries residues — it is more effective against weeds but dries the soil more.
After harvesting the previous crop, in autumn. Autumn tillage lets the soil settle over winter and accumulate moisture.
Yes. We don’t rent out machinery without an operator — the machine arrives with an operator who works on it all the time.
Yes, we work in nine regions of western and central Ukraine. Transport is included in the quote — so the further away the field, the more the volume of work matters.
