The first question we’re asked is how much field spraying costs. We answer honestly: approximately from $11/ha. But it’s more important to understand what this price includes and what can affect the final figure. Hiding things behind asterisks and small print isn’t our style.
The exact cost for your specific field can only be given after a conversation: we need to know the crop, area, type of treatment and location. But you can understand what the price is made of right now.
What the base price from $11/ha includes
The base price includes three components:
- The work of a self-propelled sprayer with a boom of 24–36 m — machinery whose technical condition we maintain ourselves
- Operator (machine operator) — an experienced specialist who knows the machinery and the agronomic context
- Fuel for the machinery — we refuel ourselves, with no extra charges on your side
What may be discussed separately
Logistics
If the field is far from our base, delivery of the machinery is discussed separately
Complex field shape
Narrow plots, island fields and difficult terrain take more time and can affect the price
Number of treatments
With comprehensive service throughout the season the terms are better
Products
You provide your own or we purchase them at your request (separately from the cost of the service)
What the final price depends on
Field area
from 200 ha and more: terms become more favourable
Shape and configuration of the plot
Standard rectangular fields are treated more efficiently
Distance from the base to the field
Affects logistics
Number of treatments per season
With long-term cooperation the price is lower
Crop and type of treatment
Different application rates and time requirements
What the service includes (besides the price)
- The full list of services is in our catalog.
- GPS navigation — accurate application without misses or overlaps
- A report on the hectares completed — for your accounting and control
- Arrival at a time convenient for you (1–3 working days after agreement)
- Consultation before treatment — we check the growth stage, crop and conditions
Comparison: your own machinery vs renting from Wester
Buying a self-propelled sprayer
From $150 000 one-off
Servicing, spare parts, storage
Another $10,000–15,000 a year
Finding and keeping an operator
Separately
Renting from Wester
You pay only for the hectares actually treated, with no capital investment
For areas up to 1,000–1,500 ha a year renting is more cost-effective than your own machinery. For larger volumes — calculate individually. We won’t talk a client out of it if buying your own really pays off for you — but the figures are worth knowing.

If you need help choosing products, we have a crop protection catalog with the current range. We’ll pick what suits your crop and task.
